## What this course covers

A focused course on the number system: one to ten, all on one hand.

## About the language

Six through ten are distinct handshapes rather than extra fingers — which is why one hand is enough, and why the shapes look nothing like counting.

## Signs

### 1

Index finger straight up.

### 2

Index and middle fingers up.

### 3

Middle, ring and pinky fingers up; thumb and index finger closed together.

### 4

Four fingers up and spread, thumb folded across the palm.

### 5

Open hand, all five fingers spread.

### 6

Thumb and pinky stretched out, the middle three fingers closed.

### 7

Pinch your thumb, index and middle fingertips together into a point.

### 8

Thumb and index finger out at a right angle, everything else closed.

### 9

Hook your index finger over, like a crooked finger. Everything else closed.

### 10
